Make-up Time Policy
- All non-exempt Team Members can request to make up work time that is lost due to a personal obligation (e.g. heath, medical appointments, family member obligations, vehicle problems, etc.)
- Make-up Time cannot be requested for vacation time requests to avoid using vacation time.
- All make-up time must be requested via email (never chat) to your supervisor and approved prior to make-up time being worked.
- Make-up time must occur the same work week in which the work time was missed. No exceptions.
- The time made up must not cause a Team Member to exceed 11 hours of work in one day or to exceed 40 hours in one work week.
- Requests for make-up time will be considered on a case-by-case basis and approval is not guaranteed, but subject to the demands of the department during the requested time off.
- The final determination as to when it is practical for the time to be made up is left to the discretion of the supervisor.
- When making up the missed time, please be sure to adjust your lunch as needed as you MUST go to lunch prior to the 5 hour mark. You may arrange this with your lead/supervisor.
- If you are making up time on the same day that time is missed, like coming in earlier or staying later the same day, the form is not necessary since it is not being made up on a different day. However, you must get prior approval from your lead/supervisor before adjusting your schedule.
Make-up Time Form
- Fill out the Makeup Time Request Form and submit it via email along with your written request.
- Make sure the Missing Time and the Makeup Time either match exactly or that the Makeup Time does not exceed the Missing Time.
- Tip: List the Makeup Time in the beginning of the end of your day and not the middle of the day. It makes it easier this way.
