The ballot should be returned to the vendor Ballot Box. Please do not attempt to drop off ballots at the front desk or with management.

Management contacted Ballot Box to get a count of the ballots received; as of May 15, 2024, Ballot Box has received 111 ballots which meets the quorum requirement, but does not meet the number to pass the amendment if the meeting was scheduled. There is still time for ballots to be submitted as the deadline is May 31, 2024. If you did not receive a ballot or lost your ballot, please let management know so you can be provided with a new one.

DOGS

When you are taking your dog for a walk outside, please ensure that you curb them away from the building and landscape. Manageement is noticing a number of residents allowing their dogs to urinate on the concrete planters and walls of the community. This can cause damage to the planters which will be a cost to the Association to clean/repair. Please help us keep the community looking and smelling great by curbing your dog.

PETS OF SAVINA

This week’s pet is Nicki! Nicki is an Applehead Siamese. She cleverly maneuvered her way into a shelter because she knew the right humans that she would come to own would soon appear.
That was almost 20 years ago…Her wish is that all pets could live the great life she has enjoyed.

EMERGENCY GENERATOR

As most of you may now the emergency generator arc flashed last week and caused a small fire. The generator itself was tested and is in good working condition. The only issue is the panel that connects the building to the generator was damaged and in need of repair. That repair work started last week and continued Thursday, April 25th with HMT and Global Power running the new wires and panel. The plan is to have the generator up and running by Friday, April 26th. We will send a separate email out to the community once it is tested and fully operational.

The April selection is “Sooley” by John Grisham. The Book Club’s next meeting is on Monday, April 29th at 6pm in the Business Center.

PETS OF SAVINA

Meet Kona, the resilient one-eyed Shih Tzu. Born sixteen years ago, Kona’s tale is one of courage, resilience, and unwavering loyalty. In his early years, Kona explored the lush fields of Michigan, but as life unfolded, Kona found himself amidst the bustling streets of Chicago, where he embraced the urban hustle with boundless enthusiasm. In the vibrant city of Las Vegas, amidst the glittering lights and desert landscapes, Kona discovered a new sense of adventure. However, it was in San Diego, the final stop on Kona’s journey, where he faced his greatest challenge. A daring leap from a fourth-story balcony tested Kona’s resilience like never before. Miraculously, he survived the fall, his indomitable spirit shining through even in the face of adversity. Now, in the twilight of his years,
Kona has found solace in the tranquil shores of San Diego. Though his days of daring escapades may be behind him, Kona’s spirit remains as vibrant as ever, a testament to the resilience and boundless love of a canine companion.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION UPDATE AND INFORMATION

Thank you everyone for your patience with our fire evacuation this past week. Everything was taken care of very quickly thanks to everyone’s cooperation.

For future fire evacuations please keep a few things in mind. First, if you have a medical or physical condition that prevents you from taking the stairs to exit, please wait in the stairwell closest to your unit or in the elevator vestibule on your floor. These areas will help keep you temporarily safe until the fire department arrives to assist you. Also, in case of the alarms going off and an evacuation notice, please quickly and calmy exit the building. Always assume it is not
a drill. Do not call the front desk to ask if you should exit as this can hold up the phone lines preventing emergency services being able to contact us if needed.

Please take the time to read through the emergency procedure forms attached to this week’s newsletter email. You will find more detailed instructions of how to respond to different types of emergencies. These forms can also be found in the resident portal under My Community > Documents.

Lasty, if you are physically unable to go down the stairs – even if temporary, such as any type of recovery – advise Management. Management keeps this information to advise first responders who needs assistance down the stairs.
